Acrylic Ink & watercolour on watercolour board (A1)
I would like to say a big thank you to Ashley for suggesting this as daily devation, check her out! Also thank you all for the support, I will try getting more work up, so I ask of your patience!
First things first: like the critique below me stated, the primary thing I noticed when I gave this a hard look was the way you captured her expression. Using such messy and imprecise lines (which I like), you gave the eyebrows the exact presence necessary to give shape to the emotion of the piece, yet not overstate them. Then, the slightly parted lips emphasize it, so bravo.
Next I love how you managed to bring both the red and the blue together over the black framework without making them look improperly messy: they keep their definition. Going off of that, you also have an excellent eye for balancing the colours out: the fleck of blue on the upper lip was excellent, as were the several smaller red strands near the larges blue one.
Lastly, I love the shading on the right side of her face, and the way the left side appears brighter because you used blue instead of black to outline it.
The only thing I could possibly have changed is the amount of negative space you included in the right side: I might have expanded it just a tiny bit, I mean really, a miniscule amount. Overall, beautiful execution, direction, and balance.
I really enjoy looking at this, the colors mesh great together. The title really stuck out for me. The direction of her eyes to me they look forward to something good maybe like not all good is lost. But she has reached her limit and is sick of it. The brush strokes remind me of her anger radiating from her. Over all I highly enjoy this and it personaly speaks to me. The added little poem underneath it goes well and to me makes the colors pop out more to me. Color choice was beautiful executed and congrats on making DD and I look forward to your future work.
